  • Nuclear Arms Race

    Nuclear Arms Race
I chose this topic because the Nuclear Arms Race and more specifically Nuclear warfare changed the world and the way we fight. This is because a Nuclear warhead has the ability to wipe out an entire city as seen in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.
  • Period: to

    Cold War

  • NATO

    NATO
Nato was created in 1949. I chose it because it was the first treaty organisation that the United States had joined inside of Europe, i also believe this is a very important topic because it brought many countries together to stand and Defeat the Soviet Union.
  • Korean War

    Korean War
I believe the Korean War was very significant in the Cold War because it was the first armed conflict and it separated the North and South being Communist and Anti-communist. this war also showed the the United States was willing to send troops to fight for Capitalism. Therefore i believe it was a very significant event of the Cold War.
  • The Battle Of Dien Bien Phu

The Battle Of Dien Bien Phu
I chose the Battle of Diet Bien Phu because it was arguably the battle that decided that fate of the first Indochina War. Therefore being a very important fight in the Cold war in France and the Viet Minh two sides of the fight between Communism and Capitalism.
  • Hungarian Uprising

    Hungarian Uprising
I believe this was a significant event of the Cold War because it showed the Soviets that the people of Hungary didn't like the communist rule and i also believe this was significant because it showed the people of Hungary would stand up and fight against communism and also that maybe other countries throughout Europe may also revolt.
  • Space Race

    Space Race
I believe the Space Race was a very important part of the Cold War it was a competition between the United States and the Soviet Union to see who could achieve manned space flight first. This is also because when the Soviets launched the first satellite it showed the United States they were ahead of them in space travel, it also showed they had the ability to launch intercontinental missiles. That would reach the United States.
  • Building of the Berlin Wall

    Building of the Berlin Wall
The Berlin Wall or the 'Iron Curtain' that descended across Berlin this was a very significant part of the Cold War because this Iron Curtain truely separated Communism and Capitalism in Germany and even the rest of the world. The East and West, communism and capitalism two icons of the Cold War this gave the people somewhat of a choice to either try and escape or stay giving showing the government of Russia and America what people wanted.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    Cuban Missile Crisis
I believe that this was one of the most significant events of the Cold War because it was the closest the two superpowers came to conflict and a nuclear war. Due to the fact that it was the closest the Soviet Union and United State came to nuclear war that is the reason why it is one of the most significant events of the Cold War.
