  • Truman Doctrine

    Truman Doctrine
    President Truman proposed an idea. The idea was that the United States would help any other country that is fighting a communist takeover.Truman later makes this a promise.

  • Berlin Airlift

    Berlin Airlift
    Russia closed off all of the borders to Berlin so no one within the city had access to food or water. The US and UK started flying planes over Berlin and dropping supplies down to the Berliners. This continued until September of 1949.

  • Bay of Pigs Invasion

    The first part was to destroy Fidel Castro's Air Force making it harder for his military to defend the attackers.
