    The Marshall Plan (also known as the European recovery program) helped Europe by providing aid to them after WWII. It provided $15 million dollars to help finance rebuilding efforts, and it was very successful. European countries experienced a rise in their gross national products.

    The "Hollywood ten" was a group of 10 motion picture producers, screenwriters, and directors who appeared before the House Un-American Activities Committee (AAC) in October 1947. They all refused to answer questions regarding their possible communist affiliations and after, spent some time in prison. Once they were put in jail, their careers were soon ended.

    Two countries--Russia and Afghanistan--signed a treaty where they both agreed to provide economic and military assistance. Later the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan under the pretext that they would hold the Soviet-Afghan friendship treaty.

    On the day of the destruction (November 9th, 1941) there was a mass protest including half a million people. Eventually, the crowds of people caused the wall to fall. After this, people started to lose confidence in communism and Berlin was united again since 1945.
