    This took place in west berlin and some countries involved were the United States, Great Britain and France. The Soviet forces blocked railroad, and water access to Allied-controlled areas of Berlin. The United States and United Kingdom responded by airlifting food and fuel to Berlin from Allied air bases in western Germany. June 24, 1948 – May 12, 1949
