The Soviet Forces blockaded rail roads, roads, and water access to allied- controlled areas of Berlin. Our reactions to this were to airlift food, and fuel to Berlin from allied airbases in Western Germany. The result of the airlift consisted of the Americans ruining the Soviet’s plan to hold West Berlin hostage.
