Korea being a peaceful place had good relations between Russia and America before 1950, no tension had any signs of showing up or even any evidence that would point to Korea being the physical background war for the Russian & American political war. North Korea began to see the fruitfulness of the communist ways and for additional help they gave Russia permission to come in and help them establish a proper communist government

    The nuclear arms race was a compeition between American/Britain and Germany to develop a nuclear bomb during WW2. However, after the German's were defeated in WW2 the race became between America and russia. Effectively both countries spent billons of dollars developing arms. The nucleur bomb was only ever used twice on a civilian population which was Japan Hiroshima in 1945.

    The election of JFK was a fairly sagnificant event in the cold war. He was one of the most influenction and inspirational leaders of america and his firm stance against communism changed the course o fhistory.

    The Cuban missle crisis was when the Soviet Union placed nuclear weapons in Cuba, just off the coast of Florida America. This served as a sagnificant scare for the US because weapons were so cloase and could be fired so easily. Only in later years it has been revealed that Krushov and JFK were both about to pull the trigger on launching nuclear weapons and effectively, beginning armagedon.
