    Its main goal was to maintain peace in the world, respect the sovereignity of nations, acknowledge human rights and to solve global problems by co-operation. It had 3 main institutions: General assembly, Security council and the Intenationl Court of Justice.

    Contained the 2 most important ideas of Truman regarding the problems of communism. Containment policy is to stop the Soviet expansion and the spread of communism. The domino theory stating that a communist government in one nation would lead to communist takeovers in neighboring states.

    It stated that the losers (eg.: Hungary, Romania, Italy) had to pay reparations and lost territories. The winners couldn't agree on the terms in case of Germany therefore it was divided into 4 between the winners.

    Mainly former colonial countries like Egypt, Indonesia,India and Yugoslavia. The main idea is a peaceful co-existence, refused to join any military cooperation, giving support to movements of national independence.

    Peaceful settlement of disputes, stated the non-intervention in internal affairs, also respected human rights and fundamental freedoms, equal rights and self-determination of peoples which interfered with the Brezhnev Doctrine.
