    After world war two Germany was divided up and controlled by u.s british, and soviet forces. Berlin was located in the soviet zone. There was a crisis in Berlin started june 24th were Berlin was completly out of all supplies. Such as gas, water, and food. So the United states and united kingdom decided to do airlifts into Berlin carrying the needed supplies. The crisis ended on may 12, 1949 when Soviet's lifted the blockade on land acces to western berlin.

    The Korean war was fought during the 1950's between the united nations, and north korea. At this time north Korea was also know as the communist democratic peoples republic. The war began when north Korea invaded south Korea.

So they create a hydrogen bomb this is roughly 1,000 times stronger than the normal bomb at that time. The inventer of the bomb was J. Robert Oppenheimer. they tested this bomb on Eniwetok atoll in the pacific. which this really heated up the arms race.

They were in Vietnam to fight off communism and at that time American govornment and politions were caught up in a therory called the "domino theory" which meant that if one country falls to communism other countries will follow in vietnams footsteps. So America thought by going to vietnam it would stop communism. But it was one of the worst wars in american history. With thousands of civilian casualities.
