    Truman Doctrine

    President Truman created a foreign policy to help corral the spread of communism. The US would provide support for countries targeted by the Soviet Union so they wouldn't fall prey to the looming red predator.

    Hollywood 10

    A group of 10 people consisting of screenwriters, producers, and directors from Hollywood were brought before Congress to address their possible communist affiliations. When these men refused to address these accusations they were sent to prison for contempt of congress.

    The US created a program to aid Western Europe in the time after WWII as they struggled to rebuild. Over $15 billion was given to Europe to aid in recovery.
