A group of 10 people consisting of screenwriters, producers, and directors from Hollywood were brought before Congress to address their possible communist affiliations. When these men refused to address these accusations they were sent to prison for contempt of congress.

As political reforms were issued within East Berlin more and more citizens called for the decomisson of the Berlin Wall. After a fairly large protest the wish was granted, though some Eastern Officials tried to hold the protesters back as the wall fell.
