Kennedy was a major influence during the Cold War. His assassinations was shocking and led to further tension between the super powers of the fime. Kennedy was actively trying to end the Cold War and his assassination led to alot of 'what-if's' if he had survived. Perhaps the outcome of the Cold War would have been different.

The Berlin Wall held visual significance of the oppressed under the ruling of Communism. The United States strongly objected to the Wall. It was finally brought down in 1989.
