In October 1947 10 members of the hollywood film industry openly criticized the HUAC's investigations into supposed communist influence in the American film industry.

Truman Doctrine

On the 12th of March 1947 President Harry S. Truman made a speech to a joint session of congress. He claimed that Greece and Turkey needed the United States' help to fight off communists trying to take over their countries. Truman requested $400 million in assistance for the countries. His request was approved 2 months later.
