Berlin Blockade and Airlift
The blockade was when Soviet Union blocked railway, road, and canal systems. They put up huge walls in West Berlin to trap all Americans in. Since there was no way to get goods from the outside, Americans had to fly and drop down food and supplies. -
Korean War
It was between south and north Korea. It started when North Korea invaded South Korea. After this there were many little battles on the border and one side would gain control then lose it. Ever since then Korea has been split up into two. -

Bay of Pigs
A big group of Cuban exiles were training and getting financed by the CIA. They put out an ill-fated invasion of Cuba at the bay of pigs. They wanted to overthrow Fidel Castro and his side. -
Reagan Visits the Wall
He visits to have a speech about the wall and said "Tear down this wall!". 2 years later the wall got taken down so west and east berlin can finally see each other again. They took it down because the cold war started to fade. -
Cuban Missile Crisis
It was between the Soviet Union and U.S. After WWii ended with a nuclear bomb, Soviet Union saw how well it worked and created one of their owns. This was the closest any two countries have been to being in a nuclear war. -
Strategic Arms Limitation Talks
It was also known as SALT. It was to get a treaty between Soviets and U.S. There were two rounds of talks and stuff. The first was called SALT 1 and the second round was called SALT 2. It was talking about the issue of arms control. -

Soviets sent troops in for a lot of reasons like to keep their communist government. It was collapsing from lack of support from other things except military. Also they wanted to expand in Asia. -
Reunited Germany
Once Hungary opened their borders with Austria it gave East Germans a way out into West Germany. Later that year the two sides began taking down the wall by themselves. They did that because of course the Soviets wouldn't give them permission to have them take it down.
