  • Truman Doctrine

    Truman Doctrine was a policy set forth by the U.S. President Herry Truman on March 12, 1947 stating that the U.S. would support Greece and Turkey with economic and military aid to prevent their falling into the coviet sphere.

  • Berlin Aircraft

    The Berlin Aircraft was the process of transporting needed supplies to east Berlin during the cold war in 1948.

  • NATO

    Military Alliance of 1949 between North American and Weastern European nation that pledges each will come to the aid of each other if attcked by an outside enemy.

    The Korean War was in the 1950's. it was the war between the south which was supported by the united nations, and the north which was supported by the peoples republic of china.

    Eradication toot for a dangerous disease in 1952, that can cause muscles to stiffen and weaken so much that people can become paralyzed.

    This began in July of 53 and eneded in january of 59. it was an armed revolt conducted by Fidel Castro. It was Allies against the regime of Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista.

    NASA was established in 1957 direct responce to the soviet launching of Sputnik.

    Bay of pigs was an unsuccessful military invasion of china.

    The tensions were high so they bulit the wall to permanently close off access to the west.

    June 5th through the 10th isreal launched a surprise bomb raid against Egyptian Air-fields after a period of high tension that included an Israeli raid into the Jordanian- controlled west bank.
