  • binary code

    binary code
Gottfried Leibniz invented binary code around 1679 but he published it in 1703. He was the first to publish it. He already used symbols 0 and 1.
  • electricity was invented

    electricity was invented
Benjamin Franklin was the oficial inventor of electricity. He conducted extensive research in electricity even selling his possessions to fund his work. June 1752 he is said to have attached a metal key to the bottom of a dampened kite string. He then flew the kite in a storm-threatened sky. If he had never made this discovery we would never have the technology that we have today.
  • first computer was invented

    first computer was invented
Charles Babbage was the inventor of the first computer. He made the design for the first computer but he never got around to building it. if he had built it it would have been the first computer ever built.
  • alternating current

    alternating current
nikola tesla invented the first alternating current (AC) motor and developed AC generation and transmission technology. this was a fundamental piece of technology that would help produce electricity all over the world. one good thing with AC is that you can change its voltage. Since high voltage is better at traveling long distances than DC (direct current) is it has an advantage when traveling through power lines and for things that need a specific voltage to work.
  • The radio

    The radio
In 1895, Guglielmo Marconi used radio waves to transmit signals over a distance of several kilometers. He developed the technology in subsequent years to achieve greater range. the technology that he made was the foundation for the radio that we have now. over the years his technology has been developed and evolved.
  • The vacuum tube

    The vacuum tube
In 1904, English physicist John Ambrose Fleming created the first vacuum tube device, which he called an oscillation valve. Fleming's device consisted of two electrodes, a cathode and an anode, placed on either end of an encapsulated glass tube. this would later be a fundamental piece of the early computers.
  • The first computer was made (Z3)

The first computer was made (Z3)
The Z3 was a German electromechanical computer designed by Konrad Zuse in 1935, and completed in 1941. It was the world's first working programmable, fully automatic digital computer. "Program to Compute a Complex Matrix" was written and used to solve wing flutter problems. Zuse asked the German government for funding to replace the relays with fully electronic switches. But it was during WWII so funding was denied since such development was deemed "not war-important".
  • first coding language

    first coding language
Officially, the first programming language for a computer was Plankalkül and it was developed by Konrad Zuse for the Z3 a computer that he had made 2 years earlier. it was in production from 1943-1945.
  • the World Wide Web.

    the World Wide Web.
the World Wide Web was invented by Tim Berners-Lee. it was invented after years of development as the project started in the 60s. the world wide web (www) is still used today and was the start of the internet. This is in my opinion the most important technological advancement that has been made in the las two centuries.
