    Revolutionary War
http://fjordlord.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/revolutionary-war-horse1.jpg The revolutionary war occured in the year 1775. The war started because the colonists were being treated unfair, and they wanted to be independent from Britain. With America's victory, the Treaty of Paris was established and that gave America independence. I chose this event because it is the reason why we live on as America and not just some British teritory.
  • Ratification of the Constitution pt 2

-the honors credit, but also because it is the reason why America today is a free country and we are all one instead of a group of isolated countries.

Ratification of the Constitution/Federalist number 9
http://www.elcivics.com/constitution_quill_pen.jpg The constitution was writtin on november 21st 1787. This was when all of America became one. at least 3/4s of the states had to agree on it so that it can go through. Since virginia and New york were the two most important states, they both must have had to agree to it or else it wouldnt work(which they did). The bill of rights was added (the first 10 amendments) whcih made all people have equal rights. I chose this event not only to receive-

http://sc94.ameslab.gov/TOUR/tjefferson.gif In the mid 1790s, there were 2 different types of politcal parties. these were the Federalists and the Democratic/Republicans. The Federalists believed in a vigourous federal government and the D/R believed in attaining the most power to retain the states. I chose this event because this affected the decisions America made all the way until now.

The Supreme Court which was lead by John Marshall was a strong power of the government even though it was not written in the constitution. this event was a debate over the 3 branches whcih were the legislative branch, the judical branch, and the executive branch. I chose this event because it is the reason why the 3 branches are equal in power today.

At first, Spain was in control of Florida which was filled with seminole indians. This event is about when Andrew Jackson took over Florida from Spain by sending troops in to stop the Seminole raids. Since Spain couldnt handle it, America claimed Florida. This event is important because it showed that America was spreading and it showed that America was powerful.
  • Jackson and the Trail of Tears

Jackson and the Trail of Tears
http://www.crystalinks.com/trailoftearsmap.jpg President Jackson conducted the Indian Removal act in 1830. This made the indians mad and they fought back. America won the 7 year long war which sent the remaining indians westward trhough the trail of tears. This was called the trail of tears because the land was unforgiving and many indians died on the way. This is an important event because it also showed of America's power and it almost wiped out the indians out of America.

At that moment, James Marshall found gold which lead to a huge event called the "Gold Rush". This caused many Americans to move west in search of wealth. I chose this event because this highly populated the highly deserted west America. Maybe if this event never happened, there would be no Hollywood.

Mexico wasnt pleased and refused to sign a treaty, so various wars occured. In the end, Mexico finaly signed the treaty of Gudalupe Hidaldo whcih ended the war on 2/2/1849. This event is important because it it established and exact border between texas and mexico that is still used today. This is also another event of Americas expansion of land/power.

    Indian Wars
http://www.legendsofamerica.com/photos-oldwest/IndianAttack.jpg The indian wars was caused because of America's expansion towards the west. This caused the Indians to be furious and they fought back. America's power ruled over the indians and won the war, helping expand America even more to help with population and trade via railroad. I chose this event because it established the western part of America to be as strong as the east.

http://www.massrealestatelawblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/homestead-stamp4.JPG On this day, the Homstead act was passed which opened 80 million acres of land in the west for settlement. This encouraged Americans to poulate more in the west not just because of gold, but to live as if it is any other state. This event is important because it is the reason why today we have multiple populated states in the west such as California and Nevada.
