  • Fort Sumter

    This was a fairly easy battle won by the Confederacy, fought in Charleston Harbor, SOuth Carolina in 1861. This was the first battle of the war and an influential one, as it encouraged a lot of Northerners to join the Union's side.
  • Bull Run, AKA Mansassas

    This was the second battle of the war, fought in July of 1861 and in Western VIrginia, again won by the Confederacy. But, unlike Fort Sumter, this was a more difficult win. Nevertheless, the outcome was an inspiration of confidence in the South.
  • Shiloh

    This battle was marked as the beginning of total war and the end of southern control over the Mississippi Valley. This took place in Shiloh, Southern Tennessee, and it was an easy one won by the Confederacy.
  • Gettysburg

    The Confedarates were too confident while the Union rebuilt their strength by eating and resting. This battle was a tie that was difficult in Philidelphia.
  • Vicksburg

    Grant's eforts were hampered by confederate leader bedford.The confederacy won and it was dificult because they(confederatcy) was not expecting them to fight back as well as they did because of the lack of resources. This battle took place in Vickssburg Mississippi.
