  • 15 amendment

    This one is the one that says that all citizens have the right to vote. So the government can't tell you not to vote.
  • Harriet Tubman and the underground railroad

    Harriet Tubman escaped her plantation and and went back to save many more slaves including her family.
  • Kansas-Nebraska act

    In 1850 settlers wanted to move to the area of Nebraska but, the settlers didn't want to move in unless it was a territory. The southern states didn't want to rush this process and it was north of the land which had a no slavery law. This act reversed the Missouri compromise and aloud slavery into certain areas.
  • John Brown’s Raid on Harpers Ferry

    On October 19,1859 the soldiers had overthrown Brown and his people 10 of his men were killed and even two of his sons.Brown was wounded ad was tried by the state of virginia for murder. He was found guilty on November 2
  • Election of 1860

    Abraham Lincoln was up against the democrat Senator Stephen Douglas. The main issue they faced was slavery. Through all of that abraham lincoln came out the President.
  • Fort Sumter

    After the 33 hour bombardment by the confederate cannons, the union was forced to surrender against them.
  • Confederate States of America is formed

    The confederate had decided to form because they were angry with the no slavery policy so they went to war with the union states.
  • Civil War Begins

    In april the confederate attacked fort sumter. 34 hours later the union was forced to surrender to the confederacy. This was then called the start of the civil war.
  • Battle of Bull Run

    This is the first major battle of the Civil war. This battle was fought in virginia. The union army was forced to full retreat and Confederate victory.
  • Jefferson Davis Elected

    Jefferson Davis was elected president in 1861 but only of the confederate states,then he ran unopposed and and won he served for a 6 year term.
  • Emancipation Proclamation

    Abolists said the war was pointless without freedom for the African Americans. In september lincoln released the proclamation freeing slaves only in areas controlled by the union
  • Gettysburg Battle

    The bloodiest battle of the war more than 51,000 soldiers dead,hurt or kidnapped. This was a very important victory because it stopped the confederate from invading the south.
  • Sherman’s March to the Sea

    Lincoln needed the victory for his re-election campaign. General williams was destroying the south either by railroads or factories. 100,000 troops marched south from Tennessee in spring of 1864.
  • 13th amendment

    The thirteenth amendment is the thing that was used to abolish slavery. Finally in 1865 they created the amendment abolishing slavery.
  • Ulysses S. Grant Appomatox courthouse

    The Battle of Appomattox Court House, fought in Appomattox County, Virginia, this is one of the last battles of te war.
  • Abraham Lincoln Assassination

    Abraham lincoln was killed on April 15, 1865. John wilkes entered Petersen House and and shot president lincoln. Soon when he was found he was hung for his crimes.
  • 14th amendment

    The 14 amendment was one that they edited and changed to be better.
