    This is important because it was a major step in abolishing slavery, People started to realize how bad slavery was.

    A novel about slavery, specifically an anti-slavery novel. According to some people, it helped lay the "groundwork" for the civil war.

    A decision made by the US government that made it so africans born in africa, who'd been moved to America were not technically citizens of the USA.
    This was important because the slaves that were free were technically not United States Citizens.

    This is imprtant because they lost a lot of men on each side.

    About 23,000 casualties. It was a batlle fought on Union soil, and won by the union, for the Union! It was the bloodies single day in the history of everything!
    This is inportant because it gave other countries the knowlege of who the confederacy really was. Making them not allies.

    Freed some of the slaves. Mostly meant to give support to the Union, using the slave issue as a playing card. Meant to keep the Union together.
    This is important because this is what Lincoln was waiting to issue! This was (IMO) a turning point in the war.

    UNION WIN! When Ulyses S. Grant sieged the town of Vicksburg, Mississippi after pushing the confederate army toward it.
    this is important because this was a good win for the Union, and we would cntinue to hold that position throughout the war.

    The 13th amendment made it so that slavery is now outlawed! This was after the emancipation proclimation, because they needed to officially outlaw slavery.
