This affected the states because now the president of the United States of America was a man who was against slavery.

    TX Secedes from Union
    Govener of Texas at that time was Sam Houston. Sam was completly against seceding from the United States. Since he was a general of war he knew seceding would lead to war and he feared that the south would lose in the war as texas was not ready for another war. This affected the war because it added another state to the confederacy.
  • Houston kicked out of office

    Houston kicked out of office
    Sam Houston had disagreed with the decison to secced from the union. Because of this Houston was kicked out of office and texas secced. This meant that Texas 1.Needed a new govener 2. Became a confederate state. This affected the civil war beacuse it meant Texas would not have as good of a govener.

    The South (south carolina) attacked with an army of 6000 men against a small union base. The South overwhelmed Fort Sumter and beat the north. This officially started the civil war and the south showed how strong they are.

    A union force took control of the Galveston ilsand and captured civilians that were in Galveston. The confederate troops made an agreement for the civilians to be let go and they were. A year later the confederate troops wanted Galveston back so they launched an attack on the union. The confederate troops had won and the union had lost. This effected the civil war because 1. The south had won the first two battles 2. Many union troops died
  • The Battle of Gettysburg

    The Battle of Gettysburg
    After the general of the south (Robert E. Lee) and his army had an astonishing victory over the union at Chancellorsville, he marched his army too Gettysburg. The union on the other hand had about 3000 men stationed. The confederate troops were bringing 60000. On the first day Lee's army fought against the union army of Potomac. The next day was even more fighting.On the final day the confed's fought with 15000 against a small union but was forced to retreat. The union had won at Gettysburg.

    Battle of Sabine Pass
    At 6 am in the morning 4 gun boats and 7 troop transport ships lined against the texas coast. As they approached the shoreline 6 confederate gunners rained down on them with cannons. All the work had paid off and the confederates had stopped the blockade and had captured around 300 men.

    Red River Campaign
    The target for the attack was Louisiana and the headquarters for the Army of the Trans-Mississippi. 10000 men were scheduled to meet up with another troop of 15000 other union men to attack the city. They attacked a group of 8000 confederates. The confederates surrounded the union troops and forced them to retreat. Soon the confederates caught up and attacked again. SOon the union troops retreated again and most were killed.

    The end of the civil war had come and the north was victorios. Presideent Lincoln immediatly put a stop to slavery and the north was happy. Although the south was extremely mad and the fact they had lost. This would mean they would have to find a new way to get resources they needed.

    Union and Confederate forces in Southern Texas had been observing a truce, when Union Colonel Theodore H. Barrett ordered an attack on an enemy camp near Fort Brown. Although they took some prisoners, the attack was repulsed the next day by Confederate Col. John Salmon Ford near Palmito Ranch, and the battle is claimed as a Confederate victory. The casualties are not known, but Union soldier John J. Williams of the 34th Indiana is believed to have been the last combat death.

    Juneteenth id a very big holliday. It celebrates the freedom of all african american people across the US. It is a time for remberance of the people who died for the ending of slavery.
  • Reconstruction ends

    Reconstruction ends
    The reconstruction of all the civil war ends. All of the destroyed figures and buildings are once again up and running and so is the US. The slaves are free and America is whole again.
