    Lee attacked McClellan's army. There were 23,000 casualties, which was the bloodiest day of the entire war. Lee retreated back to confederate states.

    Lee marched into northern territory again after being defeated at Antietam. Battle lasted 3 days and 50,000 were killed. This battle was a victory for the north.
