Baker's role in the "Big Dig"
As secretary of Administration and Finance, Charlie Baker had a large role in Boston's famous Big Dig project. Accoring to Boston.com, Baker was "a cheif architect of a financing plan to sustain the poject during it's peak constructio n years, just as federal support was diminishing." Baker put in the idea to raise toll prices in order to help pay for the Big Dig. The project ended up costing $15 Billion and Baker told the Globe that he will not spend money the state does not have. -
