  • Sugar Act. Passed April 5th, 1764

    The Sugar Act was passed to raise revenue on sugar and molasses

  • Currency Act. September 1, 1764

    It was passed to prohibit the colonies from issuing paper money.

  • Stamp Act. Passed on March 22, 1765

    imposing a tax on many types of printed materials used in the colonies. Seen as a violation of rights, the Act sparks violent demonstrations in several Colonies.

  • Quartering Act. Passed on March 24, 1765

    requiring the Colonies to provide housing, food, and other provisions to British troops.

  • Townsend Acts. Passed on June 29, 1767

    They were passed for placing duties on many items imported into America.

  • Boston Masscre. Happened on March 5th, 1770

  • Tea Act. Passed on May 10, 1773

    British law gave the East India Company special concessions in the colonial tea business and shut out colonial tea merchants.
