  • The Reform Bill of 1832

    Beginning in 1830, protest took place around the England in favr of a bill in Parliment that would extend suffrage. This law eased the property requirements so that well-to-do men in the middle class could vote. It also gave the thriving new industrials cities more representation.
  • Chartist Movement

    a popular movement among the workers and the other groups who still could vote to press for more rights. The People's Charter called for suffrage for all men and annual Parliamentary elections.
  • Suffrage For Working Class Men

    Reforms granted vote to working class men.
  • Suffrage for male rural workers

    Parliament granted votes to rural men.
  • The Dreyfus Affair

    Became a battleground for these opposing forces. The Third Republic was threatened bu monarchists, aristocrats and clergy. Theses groups wanted a monarchy or military rule.
  • Rise of Zionism

    The drefus case showed the strenght of anti- semitism in more serve in Eastern Europe. A movement known as Zionism developed to pursue this goal.
  • Suffrage for women over age 30

    Reforms granted to vote .
  • Suffrage for all women of voting age

    Also got the right to vote.
