  • The Telegraph

    Samuel Morese created the morse code, sequencs of short and long electrical pulses to represent letters and numbers. The first code was sent in 1844
  • Edison, a MAster of Invention

    Edison created electric power, awarded $40,000 he became his own boss as an inventor. Edison also created a glass light bulb.
  • Drake Strikes Oil

    Pennsylvania Rock OIl sent Edwin Drake to drill for oil in Titusville, Pennsylvania. He drilled with a steam powered engine, this started the oil boom.
  • The Transcontinental Railroad

    The Railroad streached from the east to the Mississippi River in the bigginning. In The End the new rails laid between Omaha, Nebraska and Sacramento, Calinfornia.
  • The Brooklyn Bridge

    People wanted to travel between Manhattan and Brooklyn when the population grew. The Only way to get by was to take a ferry, the ferry would not work well in the winter, because of cold winds and ice, so the ferry was shut down in the winter. John Roebling had the idea of a large bridge to connect the two towns by a bridge 1595 feet above the river. The Project was started in 1869 and ended in 1872
  • The Telephone

    Alexander Bell created the telephone in 1885. The telephone sends electric currents to transmit sounds from long distances.
