    The French and Indian War (1754-1763)
    Treaty of Paris ended the French and Indian war on Febuary 10, 1763. Britain is in debt because they had to pay for the war. In order to pay for the war the British raised taxes.

    The prohibited settlement beyond the Appalachian mountains. While Britain did not intend to harm the colonists, many colonists took offense at this order.
  • Sugar Act

    Parliament passed the sugar and molasses act. The revenue was raised and merchant was required to pay taxes.

    Organized by Samuel Adams, these helped spread propaganda and information through letters.

    The Stamp Act was passed by the bristish parliament, new taxes were put on to the American colonist. They had to pay for every piece of paper they used. The money gained was used to protect the Americaan fronteir.

    Punishment for the Boston Tea Party. Consisted of five laws being passed. Two of these were the Quarting Act which required housing british sioldiers and the Closing Boston Port Act which outlawed the use of the Boston Port or imports or exports.
