    The French and Indian War
    The war was over territory,and wealth. In the beginning the french dominated the war while being allies with the Indians until William Pitt a British gave the British/Americans the assets they needed to win.     The Stamp Act was an act were stamps were placed upon things like; wills, newspapers, and playing cards. This affected the colonies because there is now fees on stuff they need.     Parliament passed the Townshend act which was an act on taxing goods imported to the colonies from Britain. They taxed things like; lead, glass, paint, and paper.     With the Colonists boycotting the British good, tea, they were not willing to pay to taxes when British ships arrived upon the Boston harbor. So people from the rebelling group of "The Boston sons of Liberty" dressed up as Indians duping the tea into the harbor. After that was done a new act was created causing the Boston Harbor to close.     There were 5 Acts in the intolerable acts the Boston Port Act, Administration Act of Justice, Massachusetts Government Act, Quartering Act, and Quebec Act. These Acts affects were the closing of the Boston harbor, forbidding town meetings with out approval, protection of British officials, housing for British troops, removing trade fur, and different housing for British troops.     The Continental Congress meet because of the thoughts of boycotting British goods in the First one they made the 'Articles of Association". That is if the intolerable acts were not re-pleaded before December 1st they would start boycotting. All of the colonies meet beside Georgia.     The Battle of Lexington only lasted 15 minutes. It started when the British were leaving, putting down there weapons, and out of no where a shot went off. Then they went after one another.     In 1776 Thomas Paine published "Common Sense" in favor of American Independence. At first it was published anonymously. It stated that Independence would allow us to trade more easy, form a better society, not have a cruel government, and equal opportunities.
