  • The Sugar Act

    On april 5, 1764, the British goverment, Parliament, came up with the sugar act. The sugar act was tax for sugar and molasses. The british people, the colonist, wer mad at this new tax and the slogan that resulted was, "No taxation without representation.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was a law that was places in 1765. This was the second tax law that was past to also pay the debts for the war. The stamp act made you pay tax all types of paper: license, playing cards,contracts,etc.
    The colonist were ver mad, angry, and furious.
  • The townshend Act

    The townshend Act was a law that put tax on all types of Glass, Lead, Paint, Paper, Tea. Britain needed the money to pay debts from the french and indian war. The colonist were not ok with this new law. Because of this illegal activity increased such as smuggling and attacks on tax collecters. British troops were sent to restore order in boston.
  • Boston massacre

    The Boston Massacre was a street fight that occurred on March 5, 1770, between a patriot mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers. Several colonists were killed and this led to a campaign by speech-writers to rouse the ire of the citizenry.
    The coloniest were farious about it.
  • Boston tea party

    Parliament repealed most taxes, but kept the tax on tea. parliament agreed to allow the east india company to sell tea directly to the colonists via the tea act because they made money by charging low prices and reduce illegal smuggling.Sons on liberty group demanded that the tea ships leave boston harbor.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The boston tea party event caused Parliament to pass the coercive acts. The effects of the intolerable act is boston harbor was closed. Also massachusetts colonial charter was cancelled. Trials of corrupt royal officials would be held in britian. Colonist required to house british soldiers. Land was taken from the colonies and given to quebec. Boston was put under military rule, by gen. Thomas Gage.

  • First Continental Congress

    The georgia colony did not send a representative to the First Continental Congress. The first continental congress meeting was inthe city of Philadelphia. Two result of the fist continental congress in encouraged colonist to continue boycotts and sents declaration of rights to king george the third. The goal of the congress is to state the colonist concerns and ask the king to correct the problems. They agreed that they would meet again in 1775 to discuss what to do if this happend.
