End of French & Indian War
The French and Indian war provide the British with a great amount of territory in North America. But, there was conflicts over the colonists paying the debt from the war, Eventually led to American Revolution. -
Sugar Act
Sugar Act lowered the taxes on molasses, assigned custom officers, and created courts to collect the duties and prosecute smugglers. -
Quartering Act
The Quartering Act made colonies provide housing and supplies for the British troops stationed after the French and Indian War. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act had colonists pay tax on just about all printed materials. Including newspapers, books, court documents, contracts, etc. -
Townshend Acts
The Townshend Acts imposed new import duties on everyday items. Such as glass, lead, paper, and tea. -
The Boston Massacre
A group of colonists threw snowballs and rocks at British soldiers and they got scared and shot into the crowd, killing 7 people. -
Committees of Correspondence
A committee that provided leadership and showed cooperation for the colonies. More committees were later formed for towns and for countries. -
The Boston Tea Party
Boston Patriots dressed up as Indians, boarded three British ships and dumped all of their tea into the harbor. -
Intolerable Acts
A series of laws passed by the British to punish Massachusetts Bay for the Boston Tea Party. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
This battle was what kicked off. On that night, many British troops went from Boston to Concord to get an arms cache.
