Discovery of the Spectaled Caiman
On May 14 , 1940 the Spctaled Caiman was found in the Everglades in Florida. -
Now the Nests.
In the year 1968 there were nests found in Dade county with eggs in them the caiman was breeding. -
Too Many Caimans!
On July 18, 1970 there had been more than 1,000 baby caimans in Florida,U.S.A. -
Now there's a problem!
By March 28, 1974 there were so many Spectaled Caimans people in that area alerted the Florida wildlife control. -
This Isn't Helping.
In 1992 when Hurrican Andrew hit. It destroyed almost all exotic pet breeding and released even more Caimans into the wild. -
Still Today?
The Common Caiman, Spectaled Caiman, or Caiman Crocidilous is still a problem today. But it has gone way down in population. Still the same laws and regulations.
