Based on different applicable categories and outcomes desired for the funding (e.g. what it will be used for), begin research on different funding opportunities.
Different categories can include: First Nation organisations, small business grants, cultural tourism grants, government grants (local Councils through to State and Federal), philanthropic bodies, corporate sector. Keep in mind most government grants take 3-6 months to process. -

Approach funding application advisors/writers or perform in-depth research on writing funding applications. Once areas and reasons for funding have been agreed on and funding bodies have been identified, the Council should consider seeking advice from professional corporate proposal/application writers AND/OR perform in-depth research on the art of writing funding applications (e.g. format, language, structure and criteria)

Meeting of all Council members on subject of organisational values, identification and agreeance on values and definition of 'Traditional Owner', points of difference to pursue in promotion and awareness-raising.

Funding for up-skilling should be secured by the end of 2017 to ensure staff can undertake and complete course by July 2018. When funding is secured;
Consult staff on preferred training courses. Establish outlined agreement between management & staff on commitment & completion of course. Establish 'best practice' framework. -
Have subcommittee selected and finalised by the end of 2017 in preparation for hiring curriculum specialist to consult and work with Elders.

Staff to undertake Cert iii Tourism as close to the beginning of 2018 as possible. Ensure to meet enrolment deadlines and enrolment requirements. Research possible government study allowance grants. Establish a clear understanding and contractual agreement between management and staff for undertaking training.

Description and selection criteria for curriculum specialist to work for 12-18 months.

Hire curriculum specialist by end of February to work for 12-18 months with Elder subcommittee to produce a Wurundjeri-specific curriculum to be incorporated into Bullen Bullen Cultural Tours and educational experiences.

Use any other funding allocations for marketing strategy to promote Traditional Owner positioning and Bullen Bullen offerings. RMIT student/ Intern can continue this and increase online presence.
