My dad is a trucker and my family was involved with rodeo. We did a lot of traveling, so we always had a CB radio in our vehicles.
-
I remember not only having a CB radio, but my parents would also grab what I called the "bag phone" when we went on long trips. I usually had to hold it in my lap since I was the youngest and sat in the front between my parents.
-
The first house phone I remember was our corded wall phone in the kitchen. Our TV room was connected to the kitchen, and we always had to turn down the volume while someone was talking.

I come from a family of ranchers. When we would go out for cows, my dad and older siblings would carry walkie-talkies with them in order to communicate. Sometimes they still use them when they are working where there is no cell service.
-
It was a big deal when we got not only a cordless phone, but one with Caller ID! And thus began the lifelong act of screening calls.
-
The first real cell phones my family got was the Nokia phones. I was so jealous of my older brother and sisters because the phone had a game on it!
-
I got my first cell phone for my 16th birthday. It was the most basic (cheapest) model out there. It didn't have a camera and texting was limited. Simple times...
-
For my 18th birthday, I convinced my mom that it was time for me to have a phone with a camera. I got the LG Chocolate Flip and had it for 5 years. To this day, I consider that my favorite phone.
-
After the Chocolate phone died, I got a basic smart phone with the justification that I needed it for college. It may have been basic, but to have the internet at my fingertips was revolutionary!

My current phone is an Iphone 6s. It has changed my life both for good and bad. It is amazing to have so much information and tech in such a small device, but I spend way too much time on Social Media.
