Plot: A story of fate and love.

Exposition: The story takes place in the castle of Dunbraugh in Scottland. Where Merida the princess explains the importances of fate and how some are lead to it.

Exposition: This Tapestry is of Merida's family,Clan leaders,and her suitors for marrige.They all are a large part of this story and influence it.

Exposition. This is Merida's family: her father King Furgus,her mother Queen Elinor,and her triplet brothers, Heubert, Hamish and Harris. Merida is spunky and independent. Her mother the queen, tries to teach her how to be a princess. Her brothers are little rascals. Her father is the protector of the family and the leader of the clans.

Exposition: Merida is the Princess. She loves archery and her horse Angus.
When she can she loves to ride into the forest and practice archery. -
Exposition: Merida's brothers, the princes have endless creativity for getting into trouble and stealing dessert.

Exposition. Merida comes into the family dinner and sneaks a plate of pastries to her three brothers. Her mother tells her that she will have suitors coming. to visit and compete for her hand in marriage. Merida is shocked and furious about this.

Exposition: Merida is not ready to become a bride. She simply wants to have freedom to do what she wants. She thinks her mother is completely unfair.

Exposition: Queen Elinor talks to King Furgus. She is worried that she has upset Merida, But she doesn't understand why Merida won't listen to her.

Exposition: Elinor has been working for years on a tapestry that shows her family. It symbolizes her hard work to give her family a home and love. She has worked very hard for this.

Exposition: Wisps are legends of peoples' spirits. They lead one to their fate in this story. Merida sees them several timesand they help lead her to the right path.

Exposition. Lord Dingwall is her father's friend and has a son that is a suitor for Merida.

Exposition: Lord McIntosh is another clan leader and King Furgus' friend.

Exposition. Lord McGuffin is a close friend of Merida's father, King Furgus.

Exposition. Wee Dingwall is one of the young men who are asked to fight for Merida's hand in the competitiion. His father is Lord Dingwall.

Exposition. Young MacIntosh is another suitor for Merida. He is the son of Lord McIntosh.

Exposition. Wee (not really) McGuffin is the last suitor that is competing for Princess Merida's hand. He is the son of Lord McGuffin, and speaks in an unintelligible Scottish accent.

Rising Action. Merida decides that all the suitors will compete in the challenge of archery. After she listens to the rules of the contest she decides to compete to win her own hand.

Rising Action. Elinor is furious at her daughter's actions. Elinor feels that Merida is completely out of line to have done this in front of the lords and the people.

Rising Action Merida is hurt and angry after their fight. She ruined the tapestry but her mother burned her favorite bow. She runs away with her horse Angus, into the forest.

Rising action: Merida follows will-o-the -wisps to a small cottage in the woods. She finds the house is owned by a little old woodcarver. Merida discovers she is really a witch. Merida convinces the witch to give her a spell to change her fate, by changing her mother.

Rising Action: The wisps lead Merida to a small cottage in the woods. Angus does not like the place but Merida is curious.

Rising action:The witch makes a spell for Merida. She tells her that she has done this before for a prince. Merida askes if he got what he wanted and she says "Yes".

Rising Action. Merida gives her mother the spell, and suddenly her mother doesn't feel well. Merida asks her if she will call off the wedding. But at this time Elinor is transformed into a bear.

Rising Action. Merida returns home and gives Elenor the spell. She hopes it will change her fate and makeher mother change her mind about the marriage

Rising ActionMeanwhile the Lords and Fergus have a celebration and begin fighting in the hall. Elinor and escape sthe castle, with Fergus and the lords trying to kill her, because she is a bear. Merida gets her brothers the princes to help. They have eaten the rest of the cake and are now bear cubs, too.After Merida and Elinor escape.

Rising Action: Elinor and Merida try to find the witch, but she is gone. They do find a message that tells Merida to "mend the bond torn by pride." They spend the night outside, and Merida thinks about memories of her mother.

Rising Action: Merida teaches Elinor about the dangers of the forest and helps her catch fish. She realizes that her mother is acting like a real bear "on the inside".But soon after Elinor snaps back into half bear -half human state.

Rising Action: Merida and Elinor follow will-o-the-wisps to a ruin on a mountain where Merida realizes that the old legend her mother told her a bout an ancient kingdom is true. Long ago a prince followed the same path as Merrida and the prince became the bear Mordu.

Climax: Suddenly Mordu is in the ruins behind Merida. She barely makes it out with the help of her mother, and they race away. They finally stop and Merida realizes that they must go back to the castle to get the tapestry. If it is mended then Elinor will turn back to a human and if they can not fix the tapestry Elinor will forever be a bear.

Climax: Merida and Elinor sneak back into the castle. Merida goes to the hall to tell the lords that she was selfish and has made a "great rift in our kingdom" She asks the lords to let their sons and herself choose their fate. The lords agree with Merida. The men all go to the cellar to celebrate and have alcohol . This gives Merida a chance to get the tapestry.

Climax: Meanwhile, Fergus goes to find Elinor and tell her the news, but she is gone and their room is wrecked. He thinks Elinor has been taken by the bear, Mordu. He doesn't listen to Merida and locks her in her room. He goes after Elinor, thinking she is a real bear. Merida gets help from her brothers who have also been turned into bear cubs. She starts to sew the tear in the tapestry.

Elinor runs to the stone circle and Merida and the princes arrive with the tapestry. Merida stands up to her father and tells him that he cannot hurt her mother.

Climax: The men tie up Elenor and Merida arrives in time to stand up to her father. "i won't let you hurt her" Suddenly Mordu appears and attacks Merida. Elinor protects her daughter.

Falling Action: Elinor and Mordu are locked in a battle Elinor notices the rocks in the circle are slowly cracking. Elinor slams Mordu into the weakest rock over and over until the rock falls. The rock crushes the mighty bear Mordu. The spirit of mordu turns into a wisp and flys away the battle has ended.

The Battle is over and the second sun rise is coming. Merida places the patched tapistry quickly on Elinors back but nothing happens.Merida bursts into tears and says"I did this to you i'm so sorry mum."Right then The sunrise hits the tapistry and Elinor is changed back and so are the princes.Merida hugs her mom and crys tears of joy.

Resolution: Merida realizes that the sun is coming up and her mother might be a bear forever.

Resoultion: Merida recognizes the importance of her family now

Now Merida and her mother enjoy time and activities together. They are much closer to eachother now.

Resolution: Merida and her mother have both changed, and Merida has a new perspective on fate.
