  • INCAS' EDUCATION

    INCAS' EDUCATION
    During this piriod Manco Kapac and Mama Ocllo imposed a collective work to incas society .They were also in charch of education, Manco Kapac taught men the techniques of land cultivation,while ,Mama Ocllo taught women the art of knitting, making dresses and trained them in all kinds of feminine activities.They also taught about moral standards.

    COLONIAL TIME EDUCATION
    During this time the education was in charch of the Catholic Church. The educational model in that time was memorial learning. Hispanic values ​​and point of view were taught to indigenous people.

    EDUCATION IN THE REPUBLIC TIME
    During this period ,the strongest attempt to break the colonial horizon of teaching Simón Rodrígue who was Simón Bolivar's teacher.He tries to universalize education, extend it to all social sectors to ake popular education .These and other ideas are implicit in the First Educational Statute designed by Don Simón Rodríguez, as the first Director General of Education in Bolivia.

    In 1841 the country had 60 primary schools, all of them were built just for the high social level and located in the city and not in the countryside, with a school population of 4,000 children who learned: reading, writing, grammar and literature. Women and indigenous people are marginalized from education on that period tof time.

    Isidoro Belzu intention was to make chidren learnt "not only to literacy, but to the development of each student's own ability and in their context in order to made participate all status people.

    Elizardo Pérez- and Avelino Siñani were who worked hard to build the Warisata school with the help of the indigenous people.The education in Warisata was based on reciprocity, solidarity and the community work taking care about the nature.Warisata was born on August 2 as an indigenous rural school, financed the community itself.

    during this period many suffer because of the war.1940 The political convulsions and the constant pressure of the oligarchy class distroyed the Warisata School. They also persecuted to Avelino Siñani and Elizardo Perez .

    Franz wanted that , women and indigenous people had right to enter school, as it was just for the people who lived in high social status, that is why he wanted and proposed a national pedagogy,i mean without foreign models.

    In 1953 Victor Paz Estensoro government imposed universal education through the creation of the National Commission for Educational Reform.

    The Bolivian Education Code was promulgated in , MNR time. It consolidated the existence of two educational or parallel systems in our country, the urban and the rural, causing an explosive increase in peasant education, although for several researchers it was done under a colonialist, memorial andculturant approach to the detriment of indigenous cultures.
