    This split was all about freedom. New laws, freedom of religion, a new form of government set up for the people. These were just a few of the several reasons that we created the U.S. Great Britain also had to let them become seperate because they no longer could afford to pay for this nation.
  • Triple Ententre

    This was alliance that when joined these countries didnt attack each other and they tried to prevent Germany from taking over. These three countries (Britain, France, Russia) formed this alliance to counter the triple alliance that Germany had with Austria and Italy.
  • Axis Power

    These strong countries formed during WWII. They formed because they had a common enemy and they would protect each other in war. Nations came and left throughout the war, but despite their power they were defeated in the end by the Allies ( opposing alliance formed to fight agaist the Axis Powers).

    This seperation was because Ireland origanally an English colony wanted to be Catholic not Protestant like its surrounding countries. This is much like Quebec and Canada. This change created Northern Ireland as result.
  • PLO (Palestinean Liberation Organization

    This supranationalism organization was established for the establishment of an independant state for the Palestineans in the middle east. These countries/territories include the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and Golan Heights.

    In this split Quebec gained autonomy. Quebec was different province in that it was mostly French speaking and it was majority Catholic and they wanted their independance from its surrounding Protestant Canada. There was a quiet revolution in the 1960s especially major change in 1966.

    This split was all about ethnic differences and Yugoslavia wanted everyone to be the same ethnicity, everyone identical and no other cultures to come into the mix. All of the ethnic groups were divided after the falling of the communist regime.
  • European Union

    This was created to establish one currency that most countries could use, and to make a cooperative organization in order to make trade easier especially that dealing with steel and oil. Also to keep the peace within the countries and protect each other from any opposing threat. These countries are Austria, Sweden, Finland, Germany, France, etc
  • NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement)

    This organization is between Canada, U.S, and Mexico. The purpose is create a unified trading block with the rest of the world and make trade easier between the countries within the organization. This organization regulates the Tarrifs on certain products and increases investment in bussiness. This was made to compare with the European Union and to put the U.S at the top of the global marketplace. The EU doesn't have borders restricing trade.

    Scotland has not fully gained its independance from the U.K. They have almost completed their split and they are doing it because they get a bigger cut of the European Union than as a section of the 1/40 U.K. if they do split they will get 1/41 of the cut versus the 1/4 they get from U.K. if they stay.
