French/Indian war
The seven years' war (french and Indian war) lasted from 1756 to 1763. It caused an imperial struggle between Britain and France called the second hundred year's war. ultimately lead to the British taking Canada from the french and taking Florida from Spain. -
Stamp Act
This act imposed a tax on all paper documents in the colonies, occurred when the British Empire was in a lot of debt from the Seven Years War and looking for help from North american colonies. -

The Boston Massacre
Occurred when a sentry let loose shots in a crown. Three people died immediately and 2 died later of wounds. The British officer in charge Thomas Preston was arrested for manslaughter along with the other 8 men. -
Tea Act
The Tea act of 1773 was one of many measures forced on the american colonists by the British government who was in a lot of debt in the decade leading up to the American Revolutionary War. Main purpose was to bail out the debt of the East India Company. -
Boston Tea Party
A group of colonists protested against the thirteen years of British oppression by attacking merchant ships in Boston Harbor, this act served as a protest against taxation. British parliament adjusted import duties with the passage of the tea act in 1773. -
Intolerable Acts
Due to the Boston Tea Party and other harsh acts of destruction toward British properties by American colonists, the British parliament enacts the coercive Acts to the outraged american patriots in 1774. -
1st & 2nd Continental Congress
The first Continental Congress, which was comprised of delegates from the colonies started in 1774 in reaction to the Coercive Acts. In 1775, the second continental congress convened after the American revolutionary war begun. -
Lexington and concord
The Battles of Lexington and Concord began on april 19th 1775, it started the American Revolutionary War. Occurred due to tensions between residents of the 13 american colonies and the British authorities mainly in Massachusetts. -

A writer named Thomas Paine publishes his pamphlet "common sense," where he sets arguments in favor of American Independence.
