After graduation, Charles Darwin joined Captain FitzRoy for a voyage around the world. He would sail on the HMS Beagle and become a naturalist. The 5 year trip allowed him to explore the Galapagos islands.

This is the island where Darwin observed many species of plants and animals unique to the island. The tortoise caught his attention the most and because of the size, he could take a ride on them. He was also interested in the iguanas and a blue-footed booby and Sally lightfoot crab.
