  • Learned to spell "clean"

    In kindergarten. I had lots of trouble with spelling this word but was successful!

  • Learning to write in cursive

    One of the more difficult tasks for me

  • Read a bok titled "The Purple Crayon"

    One of the first books I learned to read on my own and I still have it.

  • Learned to love poetry

    I learned to love poetry in Middle School while taking a drama class and we had to act out a poem of our choice.

  • Repeated the Seventh Grade

    The year my Father died. I was only 13 and he died so suddenly, I literally gave up on everything.

  • Learned to type a little

    I had to take a typing class in 9th grade however, I broke my finger a few months into the school year and had to drop the class.

  • Discovered C.S. Lewis

    I was reading a book of poems and found one by Lewis and have loved his work ever since.

  • Started reading more books all on my own

    I started reading books about different subjects and by different authors.

  • Read books to my kids

    When they were little, I would read to them the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings series.

  • Started at HCC with ENGL-121

    This was an english compisition course. I learned a lot about reading and how to properly write ans site papers.
