In an attempt to stop and change the course of calamities caused by, French Revolution, Comte, in collaboration with Saint-Simon, took to the press. In order to reorganize society to benefit all, Comte wrote that there are three main ideas people need to follow: "the contrast between organic and critical periods of history, the ideal of industrial society, and the idea of spiritual power" (Bourdeau 2018).

In addition to promoting his three successive stages, Comte also established a new field of science; sociology. Within sociology, Comte found the solution to his early writings and defined it as, “the attempt to reconcile science, religion, and ideals of 1789” (Kreis 2017). Under this modern form of science, are two distinct parts: social statistics, the study of sociopolitical systems, and social dynamics, the study of the three stages.

In Comte's annotated works, he explain the process for positive knowledge. With this, he had two goals: the foundation of sociology and to promote the three successive stages: theological, metaphysical, and positive. Fig 3, (Nextews 2018)
