+ It was one of the most powerful states in the world during the 15th and 16th centuries.
+ They were known for achievements in art, science, medicine, and architecture.

+ It was founded in the wake of rebellions against Tughlaq rule.
+ They promoted Hinduism through buildings and festivals.
+ The capital was named Vijayanagara or “City of Victory”.

Southeast Asia
+ It was situated in the rich rice plains of the Chao Phraya River Basin.
+ They adopted many Hindu ideas and practices that were followed by the Khmer. Buddhism did also take root and was important to society.
+ It was a place for thriving international trade even though the city lay inland.

Middle East
+ This was a dynasty in Egypt.
+ It is the name for the second half of the Mamluk period – 1382-1517.
+ They had a confusing way of doing lineage. When one sultan died, it could be the dead sultan's biological son or another Burji Mamluk, the group of people who ran this half of the Mamluk period.

Europe
+ They ruled over Poland-Lithuania, Bohemia, and Hungary.
+ The founder of the dynasty was Jogaila who was the grand duke of Lithuania.
+ All the rulers of the dynasty supported learning however the last two rulers supposedly encouraged every form of creative activity. They did however say that they didn’t support butchering each other in the name of religion.

Mesoamerica
+ It was a kingdom in the Andes region of South America. They spanned some 2,500 miles.
+ They devised good agricultural and roadway systems. They also had a centralized religion and language which helped them to maintain a well put together state.
+ Many of the Inca subjects were farmers who were self-sufficient. They paid taxes through public labor.

+ It was founded by Tokugawa Ieyasu. It was a military dictatorship with a military leader (shogunate).
+ It brought about the end of a 140 year civil war.
+ The daimyo and samurai experienced financial difficulties while merchants and tradesmen procured. This was due to their source of income not rising with everything else.

East Asia
+ Social mores were quite conservative during this time. Widows were refused as brides by men which led to higher suicide rates which in turn led to homes for women.
+ The empire grew a lot under the Qing dynasty, including population.
+ It is one of only 2 dynasties where China wasn’t ruled by the Han people.

+ The Maratha people were a warrior group from modern day Maharashtra.
+ They gradually took over Mughal territory from 1720-1761. They raided Delhi in 1737.
+ Under one of its kings, it built a strong navy and some forts on the western coast.

Europe
+ Their first constitution is from 1814.
+ They gained independence from Napoleon in 1813.
+ The Netherlands first became a Kingdom when Napoleon installed his brother, Louis, as King of Holland. This was in 1806 and lasted until 1810.
