This election was known as a corrupt election. Jackson had won the popular vote but the House of reps. break the tiebreaker. Jackson ended up losing to Adams. -
Election of 1828
This election was important because it was the first election to be decided by popular vote. It was a rematch between Quincy Adams and Jackson. By popular vote, Andrew Jackson won the election. -
Indian removal Act
This Act made the indians move out of the US. They had to ssettle further and further west. Some left without issue but, others left ith a fight. Andrew Jackson passed this law. -
Worcester vs. Georgia
This was a case between Worcester and the state of Georgia. This stated that if you do nt have a license for a Native American area, you can not be there. He did not have a license so, he ended up going to jail. -
Nullification Crisis
The Southerners did not like the new tariff as it hurt them. South Carolina then declared the tariff as illegal and threatened to secede from the country. Then a comprimise was designed so they could not secede. -
Bank War
This had to do with the decision to get a second bank into the country. When the 1st banks time was up for renewal, Jackson said no. The war began when he started critcizing the bank during his first term.
