    On March 15th, 1767, Andrew Jackson was born to Andrew and Elizabeth Hutchinson Jackson in Waxhaw, South Carolina.

    Andrew Jackson enlists in the Revolutionary Army
    The exact date is not known, but we do know that Andrew Jackson elisted in the Revolutionary army at the age of 13.
  • Battle of Horseshoe Bend

    Battle of Horseshoe Bend
    Andrew Jackson attacked the Creek Indians after he let the women and children of the tribe cross the river and get to safety. The Creek Indians had 550 casualties while Andrew Jackson had only 47 lost.

    As a last act of war, the British Soliders attacked the American Soliders. The British captured a plantation, but one of the officer got away and warned General Jackson that they were coming. The Americans rushed out and stopped the British at the river. For two weeks the sides prepared for wa. In the end 251 British killed. 1,259 were wounded and 484 were missing in the battle. The Americans lost a total of 11 men and 23 wounded. The battle occured after the treaty of Ghent.

    There were four competetors in this election, John Quincy Adams, Henry Clay, Andrew Jackson and William H. Crawford. There had been a fifth, but John C. Calhoun backed out with the hope of becoming Vice President. Adams finished with 84 votes, Jackson 99, Crawford 41 and Clay 37. Even though Jackson should have won becaus ehe had more votes, the electoral vote came back with Adams on top.

    This time around, Andrew Jackson won by a landslide, with almost 100,000 more votes than JQA. But on the way, many7 ugly rumours spread. One incluing Jackson's wife of being an adultress. Mrs. Jackson was humiliated. She died before Andrew's inauguration. Jackson believed her death was caused by the rumours and would never forgive those people who lied about her.

    Jackson was now president and had decided he didn't like the bank of the United States. He tried to destroy them but could not. When the bank was being rechartered, Jackson vetoed the bill, not allowing the bank to go on anymore. The official date isn't known.

    Jackson forced the Indians out of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia, Tennessee and Florida snd into Oklahoma. There were many deaths along the way. It was came to be known as the Trail of Tears. Out of the 70,000 Natives, more than 10,000 died, approxamitly.

    The Tariff of 1832 was very unsuccessful. South Carolina passed an ordinance of nullification on November 24, 1832, and threatened to secede if the federal government attempted to collect those tariff duties. This was nicknamed the Nullificatin Crisis.
