    Battle of Horseshoe Bend
    The Battle of Horseshoe Bend is considered part of the War of 1812. Jackson led 2,600 American soldiers, 500 Cherokee, and 100 Lower Creek to battle against the Upper Creeks, or the Red Sticks. On August 9, 1814, Jackson forced them to sign the Treaty of Fort Jackson.
  • Battle of New Orleans

    Battle of New Orleans
    The Battle of New Orleans took place on January 8, 1815. It was the last battle of the war of 1812. Jackson led the troops to victory against the British in just 30 minutes.
  • Election of 1824

    Congress let the House of Representatives decide on the vote. 261 votes were needed to elect the president. Jsckson won of 99 electoral votes, and 153,544 popular votes.
  • Nullification Crisis

    This was used to protect the United States industry. They incresased tarriffs on goods from Europe. These tarriffs hurt southerners becasuse they fepended on trading with Europe.
  • Indian Removal Act

    Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act to take all the Indian land east of the Mississippi. About 4,000 Indians died while being forced to move betweent the fall and winter of 1838 and 1839. This became known as the "Trail of Tears".
