Joins army
He was thirteen years old when he joined the army during the Revolutionary War. His roll was to deliver messeges to leaders. On one of the missions he saw his brother, who was captured, and Andrew got infront of him and the General of the enemy slashed Andrews hand. -
Elected for House of Representatives.
Jackson was the first member elected for the House of Representatives in Tennessee. Right after that they asked him to be in the Senate but he rejected. He rejected because of financial problems. -
Jackson educates himself
When he was a teen, Andrew started reafing law books. He worked very hard to educate himself. It payed of because later in life he becomes a lawyer in Tennessee. -
Elected Major General for militia
Jackson was elected major general of the Tennessee State militia. When war broke out, he led the militia on two expeditions. They were for supressing the Creek Indian uprising in Mississippi. -
"Old Hickory"
He earned the nickname "Old Hikory" for winning the battle with the Creek Indians. Jackson got the Indians to sign a treaty giving up 20million acres of land. He also got a promotion to major general of the regular U.S. Army. -
Another Journey
President James Madison sent him to crush the rest of the Creek Indians and Seminoles who were hunting on the settlers along the Georgia border. Jackson chased the Indians back to there homes in Florida. He also exicuted the Spanish Governer and two British people stired up the Indians. -
Becomes Senator
He did not living so far from home so he left the House of Representatives. He accepted the legislature's request and becomes an U.S. Senator for Tennessee. -

Andrew Ran for President. He was against President James Monroe, John Quincy Adams of Massachusetts, and William H. Crawford of Georgia, The third, Henry Clay of Kentucky, -
Becomes President
Jackson wins most amount of electoreal votes and becomes President. His vice President John C. Calhoun. He ran for President for a second term and won. His Vice President was Martin Van Buren. -
Close Call
Andrew was the first President to have an assasin try to kill him while he was still in office. It was attemted outside Capitol. The assassin's guns both misfired and saved Jackson. -
Leaves Office
Andrew has to leave office bcause he has served his two terms as President. He became ill but was still active in politics.When he leaft there is an economic depression developed and Martin Van Buren had to deal wih it. -
Died
AndrewmJackson died June 8th, 1845. Andrew passed at the age of 78. His health was bad, and he died at the Hermitage near Nashville, Tennessee.
