    Claudius Ptolemy

    Claudius Ptolemy created a famous star catalog that described stars and their positioning in the sky. This contributed to future generations that were studying astronomy.

    Nicolaus Copernicus

    Between 1507 and 1515, Nicolaus Copernicus came up with the heliocentric theory. This theory stated that the Earth isn't the center of the solar system and that it revolves around the Sun and rotates on its own axis. This paved the way for how we see our own solar system and other star systems in the universe.

    Tycho Brahe studied what was called the "new star". He proved that it was further away from Earth than the moon was. This is important because it helped progress the study of planetary positions.
  • Johannes Kepler

    Johannes Kepler discovered the Laws of Planetary Motion. The main one he is known for is that planets move in elliptical orbits around the Sun rather than circular ones. This is important because it changed how we see other planets and our own and how they orbit.

    Sir Isaac Newton came up with the Law of Gravitation. This stated that any matter in the universe attracts other objects. This is important because well, he discovered gravity. It changed how we look at EVERYTHING.

    Albert Einstein discovered the famous equation, E=mc^2. This meant that energy and mass are the same thing, but just in different forms. This equation helped explain how the Big Bang worked.
