The war started because of relations with the French and England wasn't the best and over control over North America.England brought the colonists into the war to fight for them. -

The war ended with the Treaty of Paris and with England in complete control.England wanted the colonists to pay for the war and the colonists did not like that.England decided to tax the colonists leading to the Revolutionary war. -

The Acts
The Acts are a bunch of restrictions and taxes on colonists they included,the proclamation act,the stamp act,the Intolerable acts,the quartering act,Townshend program and the Grenville program.They put restrictions on mail,housing,what the colonists could drink.They ended when the war ended and America announced it's freedom. -
The Stamp Act
The Stamp act taxed mailing items like notes,letters,paper,and stamps.This made the colonists mad and riots broke out.The opposition to the tax was known as the Sons Of Liberty and they were a secret organization who set protests,riots and fires. -
Colonial Resistance
When the King started taxing the colonists with the acts it made a lot of them angry.The acts lead to riots and massacres and killing people who opposed the acts.This also lead to the Boston Tea Party,the sons of liberty and the first constitutional congress. -
The Relations With England
Relations with England and the colonists was losing control as the king wanted more money from the colonists and for them to pay for the war and the colonists wanted freedom from England. by 1770 many people agreed with John Adams who was leader for freedom and helped a lot with the constitution and colonists freedom. -
The Boston Massacre
A riot broke out between soldiers and town workers.The riot lead to the soldiers killing 5 workers and wounding several more and sparked hatred between the colonies and England. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party started after the King George III started too tax the colonies which the colonist were just starting and didnt have a strong economy and could not do. The King still decided to tax them and when he sent a ship with tea over it made the colonists mad.The colonist dressed as natives and boarded the boat and threw the tea overboard. -
Battle Of Yorktown
This battle was one of the turning points in the war. Cornwallis took Virginia after a General named Greene left to take the Carolinas .George Washington needed to take it back and there was a massive sea battle which neither side won but it was enough to send the British fleet back. -

Colonial Peace
There was a lot of political changes when the war ended and the economy was unstable and couldn't collect taxes.There was a huge gap between the rich and poor.Each state had its own little government which aloud it to make its own laws for that state and later on would be over seen by the 3 branches of government.
