    Treaty of Paris Signed
    By the Treaty of Paris in 1763, France lost Canada in favor of Great Britain and all claims to territory east of the Mississippi, while Spain, in order to recover Cuba which Britain had taken, gave up Florida. With some exceptions England now held the whole of North America east of the Mississippi.

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre started from the killing of 5 colonists in Boston on March 5 1770. This happened because of culumation of tensions in the American colonies that grew when Royal Troops set foot in Massachusetts in October 1768. This was to enforce the taxs that was imposed by the Townshend Act.

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act was passed by Parliament on May 10, 1773.This new law imposed no new taxes, but was designed to save the East India Company from bankruptcy. This Act allowed the East India Company to pay lower taxes in Britian, also allowed it to sell tea more cheaply in the colonies. This soon lead to the Boston Tea Party which was organized by Patriot leader Samuel Adams.

    The Boston Tea Party started with a group of Massachusetts Patriots led by leader Samuel Adams, protesting against the American tea importation granted by Parliament to the East India Company. Patriots raided 3 ships called the Dartmouth, Eleanor, and Beaver dumping all chests of tea in the Boston Harbor.

    Intolerable Act
    This Act was a series of acts that was passed by the British Parliament in 1774. This acts stripped Massachuetts of self- goverment and historic rights, this soon led to the outrage and resistance of the Thirteen Colonies. Four of theses acts were passed that were directed toward the Boston Tea Party of Decemeber 1773. British Parliament hoped that these punitive measures would stop all issues like the Boston Tea Party.
  • Battle Of Lexington and Concord

    Battle Of Lexington and Concord
    The Battle of Lexington and Concord was fought between the British and the colonists. This battle started the American Revolution from 1775-1783. On the night of April 18, 1775 hundreds of British troops marched from Boston to nearby Concord. Fighting soon started between the British Redcoats and the colonies militiamen in Lexington town from the sounding of Paul Revere. Many battles followed after and in 1783 the colonist won their independence.
