    The beginning of French and Inian war
    The British settlers had moved west to obtain some land but they had moved on the French territory. So the French had built a fort in Ohio river valley to stop English settlement the fort was called Duquesne.
  • Capturing Quebec

    Capturing Quebec
    Quebec was a city settled becoming the French first permanent settlement. Then later on the British captured it and it made the major conflicts in America end.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The proclamation of 1763 was saying the colonist was not allowed to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The sugar act was a tax on sugar and molasses and was paid by wealthy merchants. It has been around since 1730 but all of a sudden they wanted to enforce it now.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The stamp act was paid by everybody and was a direct tax on paper items such as newspapers, deeds, law documents, playing cards, and cigars. 9 out of 13 colonies had attend the British Parliament to repeal the act. But the king didn't pay any attention to the colonies petition.
  • Boston Massacre

    On March 5th 1770 five colonist were killed and John Adams defends the British soldiers in court. He still think that people should have independence. There has been many stories about why the British's soldiers shot at the colonies and many say that the people was harassing the soldiers.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party was to raise revenue, it had closed port of Boston, and there was no Town Meetings allowed. The 343 boxes of Tea was poured out and it had costed 18,000 dollars. This event was caused by the Tea act and the colonist was just protesting against it.
  • 1st Continental Congress

    1st Continental Congress
    Colonies had to send delegates in response to the Intolerable act but only 12 out of 13 colonies participated. This was the first ever time that the colonies had acted as a United Government. England had also told the colonies to prepare their militias.
  • Battle of bunker hill

    Battle of bunker hill
    This was the first moral victory for the Americans and was a turning point for them. The Americans had ran out of ammo and lost the hill but still made the British retreat. 1500 British soldiers was there and attacked the Americans in 3 assaults.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    This was the first ever battle and it has started the Revolutionary war between the British and colonies. This is when somebody has shot the first shot and nobody knows who it was. Paul Revere was going telling everybody about the redcoats marching.
  • War Efforts

    War Efforts
    Patriots were in favor of the colonies independence from England and Patrick Henry said "give me liberty or give me death". Loyalist were against the colonies having independence from England. Neutral was the people who didn't care if the colonies or if England won the war. Native Americans have decided to ally themselves with the British.
