  • French and Indian war

    the french ad Indian war started in 1754 and ended in 1763. the reason for the war was By the mid-18th century, both the British and French wanted to extend their North American colonies into the land west of the Appalachian Mountains, known then as the Ohio Territory.
  • Treaty of Paris

    It was signed after in 1783 at the end of the french and Indian war.
  • Sugar Act

    The sugar act was an act passed by the Parliament of Great Britain on the American colonies in order to raise revenue. The new Sugar Act replaced the Molasses Act of 1733, reducing by half the colonial tax on molasses, but stepping up enforcement of the tax.
  • Stamp act

    The Stamp Act was passed by the British Parliament. The new tax was appointed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. Ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications.
  • The Quartering Act 1774

    the final documentation was written on the 4th of July but not official until august 2nd 1776. the reason for the declaration of independence is to explain to foreign nations why the colonies had chosen to separate themselves from Great Britain.

  • General Cornwallis surrenders to Washington at Yorktown

    the reason the he surrendered to Washington is because Washington had another army of 4000 men join him in the fight against cornwallis.
  • Peace Treaty Signed ending the American Revolution recognizing US independence.
