  • Britain Moving Out

    After the British left Boston, they made their way to the Middle colonies because they had a plan to take over New York City.
  • Join Forces

    General Howe and Admiral Howe join together and build the largest British expedition forces. In their force, there were many German mercenaries.
  • New York Lose

    Although Washington tried his best to hold them back with his 23,000 men but he could not compete with the British force. As a result, Washington and his men retreated and Great Britain took New York.
  • The French Helping Since 1776

    Still mad that the British won in the French and Indian War, they supplied the Continental Army with weapons.
  • Christmas Night

    Afraid of losing his men because they kept on losing battles, Washington took his men across the Delaware River to surprise the Hessians soldiers.

    The Continental Army made their way to Trenton to attack the Hessians, who were hung over because of the previous night of drinking.

    The 8,000 men left of Washington's men, enlistment were going to end, which caused a lot of fear.

    After 8 days of fighting, the Continental Army were able to capture 6 cannons, 918 men, and kill 30 men. Therefore winning the Battle of Trenton.

    General Howe made his way to take over Philadephia, which is the American captial.

    After General John Burgoyne planned failed to meet up with Howe, Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys were able to make Burgoyne surrender to General Gates.

    During the winter in Valley Forge, the Continental Army faced many hardships. Some include the low on resources, uncommitted men, and hundreds of men dying.

    Making an alliance with the America, the French recognized that America was independent.

    As the continental grew worst in Valley Forge, the troops were surprised by Friedrich von Steuben, a drillmaster who helped Washington whip his men into shape.

    General Henry Clinton and Charles Cornwallis captured Charlestown, South Carolina.

    French Army landed in Rhode Island, which is after the Britsh left to fight in the South.

    The Continental Army fought against the British in Cowpens, South Carolina and forced Britain to retreat.

    Cornwallis attacked Greene in Guilford Court House, North Carolina. Although they won, the Britsh lost many of his troops.

    After fighting a lot with the British, Greene asked help from Lafayette, asking him to convince the South into helping them and not the British.

    Robert Morris and Haym Salomon were able to raise enough money and they were finally able to pay the troops.

    Realizing that he was outnumbered and low on ammuntion, Cornwallis surrended to the Continental Army.

    Cornwallis surrenders to Washington after being trapped by the French and American troops.
