American Revolution Timeline

  • The Sugar Act

    This put a tax onto many foreign items.

    The currency abolished the money that the colonies had begun to use and it also prevented the use of other currencies.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act put a large tax on all paper.
  • The Declaratory Act

    This act was passed to try to assure the dominance of England over the colonies.
  • The Townshend Revenue Act

    This act put a tax on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea.
  • The Boston Massacre

    In Boston a group of protesting civillians began throwing snowballs at British soldiers. The soldiers began to fire into the crowd. 3 were killed on the spot, 2 were killed later on.
  • The Tea Act

    This act brought tea from the East India Company to America.
  • The Boston Tea Party

    During the night, bostonians dressed as native americans stormed the ships and dumped all the tea into the water.
  • Independence Day

    The Decleration of Independence is drafted and signed and the United States of America is born.
  • Treaty of Paris signed

    The US and Great Britain sign the Treaty of Paris ending the war.
